Who does the fund help?

Help is available to all members or past members of the Equity Section of MEAA and their dependents who find themselves in dire circumstances. This is not only offered in the area of financial assistance, but also in a range of consultative services.

During the COVID-19 crisis there is special financial assistance available for all performing arts professionals. Contact us via an application for assistance, or visit our COVID-19 crisis page for more information.

In the last few years this has included professional advice on financial and psychological matters requested by the applicants in cases of emergency.

It is important to know that all matters referred to the Benevolent Fund management committee are kept in the strictest confidence.

Also that financial assistance, when offered, is given, in most cases, as an unconditional loan, which offers the opportunity for recipients to pay back the loan, if their circumstances change.
